Due to the unprecedented nature of the Coronavirus Pandemic, and the continuously changing situation, our highest priority must be the health and safety of our family and friends. All CAPA Group Classes have been cancelled for the remainder of the year. Please check your emails for further details.
Group Classes are open to students living in the Madeira School District.
In this class, students are taught how to develop and improve creative skills through a variety of theatrical and dance lessons. Every week students are given the opportunity to apply their imaginations so they can perform with confidence, participate collaboratively, and enhance problem-solving abilities. This class will encourage students to dance outside of the box and through varying acting and theatre exercises bring their own personality to each movement. Weekly topics covered may include retelling stories, statue, creative play, storytelling, pantomime, collaboration, and improvisation. New dance and theatre skills will be explored and become more challenging throughout the session culminating in a performance for families and friends at the end of the Spring Session. The class is open to any interested student in Grades K-2 and class enrollment is limited to 15 students. Registration is based on a first come first serve basis.
Poetry in Motion
Students gain unique insight into poetry as they explore the story and world behind the verse. We will bring the words to life with music, movement and spoken word, telling a rhythmic story through word, movement and music. No experience with dance or vocals needed for this class. The Spring Session culminates in a performance for families and friends at the end of the Spring Session. The class is open to any interested student in Grades 3-5 and class enrollment is limited to 15 students. Registration is based on a first come first serve basis.
